Yearbook Cover Contest

All artist entries MUST follow all of these rules for their drawing:
• Use a white 8‐1/2” x 11” sheet of paper
• Leave a ¼” border around the edges – nothing in this area can be printed, so
please make sure that all drawings stay within the border
• No pencil will be allowed
• Use bold colors – markers or crayons are preferred because they reproduce better
• Keep your drawing clean and free of smudges and fingerprints
• No photos please – use your drawing skills
• Write “Horace Mann Elementary School” and “2012‐2013” on the drawing
• Submit your drawing on a plastic sleeve to protect it
• The artists name should only be lightly written on the back of the drawing (not
front) and also label the drawing on the back of the plastic sleeve (not front)
• Have your drawing reflect something great about our school!
• Failure to follow all of these rules will result in the drawing being disqualified
• Have fun and be creative! Artists may submit up to 3 drawings
• Drawings should be submitted to the school office

** Drawings must be submitted by February 1, 2013 **

The submittals for the contest will be anonymously reviewed by an outside artist group. They will
determine the top 5 drawings, which will then be voted on by the Mann student body. The winning
design will be featured on the front cover and runners up will be printed on the back cover of the
yearbook. Remember that this is a fun tradition and there can only be one winner and one group of
five finalists. The PTO ensures that this is a fair process and the yearbook cover contest is a good
spirited tradition that is meant to be a fun activity for the students.
